the one in london! (part one)

i've had this post waiting in "drafts" for long enough.  here now, all the details from my self-proclaimed "spring break":
back in march, i flew away to london to vist dear friends i hadn't seen in way-too-long.  it was an amazing trip, and i had a fabulous time.  my only complaint?  the week was too, too short.
*
i arrived saturday morning, 6:30 london time (that's 1:30 est)
main goal for the day: staying awake.  these boys helped.
i don't have pics from our adventures this day.  i was not awake enough to put my camera into my purse before we headed out.  even though i wanted to take a nap every time i sat down, i really loved our day, walking around the city and enjoying the sunshine.
we started with an amazing brunch outside, then walked up primrose hill and explored the shops on the neighborhood high street.  we bought tea and croissants (from a very determined salesman) for an afternoon snack, then finished with dinner at a pub (off the beaten path, of course).
my fave part of the day might have been wil saying, about 9pm,  "now you can go to sleep."

sunday:
again, not many pics, but another great day.
church, then the national portrait gallery.
when we exited the tube stop at trafalgar square, we found ourselves in the middle of a St Patrick's Day music festival.  i'm not sure if this man was a featured performer, but daws couldn't resist the photo op:

monday:
first stop, kensington gardens.  we packed a picnic and set off to visit peter pan and feed the birds.
this man was kind enough to share his bread with wiley, who otherwise wanted to feed the birds his lunch
ham?  yes, ham.

next stop: natural history museum (aka "the dinosaur museum")
wiley and i.b. dinosaur dinosaur

that's all for now! activities on tuesday through thursday coming soon ...
