happy mother's day!

sweet sweet virginia

last weekend, i was back in virginia, enjoying time with the fam.  our adventures included a trip up to the creek on the blue ridge parkway, where we picnicked and splashed around like old times.

i heart june

i've come to the conclusion that june is my favorite month of the year.  and this year's june just might take the cake.  activites have included: roadtrippin' to the ham, riding in a model-T, playing downtown, celebrating multiple birthdays, making new friends and keeping the old, and of course, swimming, swimming, swimming, and soaking up the fun.  here's a smattering of what i've been up to:

oh yeah, there was also some karaoke.

this year's family christmas vacation included:

12 pounds of turkey

11 bottles of vino

10 types of dessert

9 sweet potatoes

8 rounds of game time

7 human beings

6 rowdy dogs

(+ 1 reclusive cat)

5 harry potter movies

4 inches (leftover) snow

3 christmas eve servies

2 grocery trips

and a partridge in our pear tree

thanksgiving? unbelizeable.

yes, thanksgiving was two weeks ago.

yes, i have been fairly slacking in the blog department.

but now i'm back, and don't you want to hear about my thanksgiving?

i thought so.

i like to think of it as the "extended family's great escape 2k9", aka BELIZE.

activities included snorkeling in the sea, zip-lining in the jungle, and tubing through the mayan caves.

skies may have been cloudy, but it was warm, and it was the beach.

yes, there was turkey- and lobster.

and we all enjoyed the view.
